The split between Konami and former member Hideo Kojima has been discussed for months. No one could really believe how and why a company like Konami could have fired a talented member like Kojima, but things just happen and nothing you can do about. Things, however, never stay the same. Shinji Hirano, former Konami president, is now the boss at Kojima Productions, according to The Koalition.
Of course this is an important decision, and we can’t wait to hear what Kojima has to say about it.
However, Konami is currently working on Metal Gear Survive.
This chapter is set after the events of Ground Zeroes, when a wormhole appears above the mother base, absorbing the MFS. They found themselves in a strange new land, surrounded by strange creatures and zombies.
Of course, you don’t have to be a Metal Gear fan to understand that this zombie thing has nothing to do with the series.
Even Hideo Kojima agrees, and here you can find what he said during a recent audience Q&A.
Metal Gear Survive has nothing to do with me. I know absolutely nothing about it. That’s because it’s totally unrelated to me, right? Um, how should I put this? Well, for me, Metal Gear is a series about espionage, with political fiction elements. Right? So, because of that, there’s no reason that zombies would show up. This is how I see it, you know?
At least he went straight to the point.
Kojima Productions is currently developing Death Stranding, an action videogame releasing for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
