The Walking Dead Season 3: How To Import Xbox 360/PS3 Save Files On Current Gen Consoles

The Walking Dead Season 3 will be the first game in the franchise to skip the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, the first two seasons were available on legacy consoles and so Telltale Games has come up with a solution to transfer the save files for previous seasons to current gen consoles.

The method to transfer the save files is not an elegant one but it will do the job. The first step of transferring the save files is that players have to import the save files from their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

To import the save files just download the latest patch for the game and a new option will appear for players to upload their save files. It is important to note that the uploaded save files must be of a completed season and obviously you will require a Telltale account.

All you have to do is upload your save file then head over to the save files terminal on Telltale’s website use you Telltale account to find your save file and click “Use Save”.

Al that is left to do is for you to wait for the release of the first episode of The Walking Dead Season 3. Just launch the game and log in with your Telltale account go to “Extras” and select the option “Import Saves from Telltale Account”. After this, you should be seeing “Continue Your Story” option on your main menu.

However, if you can’t do this due to some reasons that are only known to you, then there is another way. You can create a mock up save file for The Walking Dead Season 3. Just select “Continue Your Story” from episodes menu and select “Recreate”. After this, you will get to decide the outcome of the major events in previous seasons.

However, there are some limitations to it like on Windows 10 players can only continue their story if the save files have been imported from other devices as the local save feature is not available. Also, the import save file option is not available for the PS Vita.

The Walking Dead Season 3 is an episodic point and click game developed by Telltale games and the first episode is scheduled to launch on December 20, 2016, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
