With Nintendo Switch inching closer to launch, developers have started announcing exclusive games for Nintendo’s upcoming console. One such game from an indie French development studio is Seasons of Heaven.
Based on a novel by the same name, written by Nico Augusto, Seasons of Heaven is under development by the French development studio Any Arts Production. The developers have released a small teaser for the game showcasing some of the engine tech while a full reveal trailer is scheduled to be released on 19th December.
The game is being built on Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 suggesting if the developers can manage to optimize it properly, Seasons of Heaven might be one of the prettiest looking launch titles of Nintendo Switch.
Seasons of Heaven’s story follows a group of survivors trying to live in a post-apocalyptic, barren world. Most of the human population is dead while the survivors live together in small groups and try to adapt to the harsh new world.
According to Any Arts Production, the players will be able to switch between two characters while playing, both featuring different gameplay sequences.
Given the concept art of the game which features a young boy with a dog, it is possible these two might be the playable characters the developers were referring to.
The news was originally broken by Gameblog who have promised that some new gameplay footage and a developer interview will be available soon.
The released teaser trailer seems to suggest the game might be an open world adventure since it seems to feature a wide variety of locations, which look pretty amazing thanks to Unreal Engine 4.
Whether the final game would look something like that or not remains to be seen but is highly unlikely given the weak hardware of Nintendo Switch.
There is no indication of the game’s release yet but more information should be available on 19th with the full reveal trailer.
