The acquisition of jungler Lee “KaKAO” Byung-kwon finally concludes Misfits roster changes for the 2017 European League Championship Series (EU LCS).
The former starting member of KT Rolster and Invictus Gaming was once recognized as one of the best in the business. Following his decision to move to China, Kakao slowly moved away from the spotlight.
Joining the newly promoted roster of Misfits allows the South Korean an opportunity to take the main stage once again and prove himself as one of the world’s best junglers. He’ll be replacing Leon “Lamabear” Krüger in the starting lineup of Misfits.
In Season 4, Kakao was pretty open about decimating SK Telecom T1. To his credit, the performer proved to be a constant thorn in not only SKT T1’s side but also other high-tier teams. He’s known for assessing crucial situations and surprising opponents with relentless aggression. European fans will be glad to know that they’ll get to watch him smiling on stage when the next season of EU LCS begins.
Earlier this week, former Unicorns of Love and Origen mid-laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage was announced as a replacement for Marcin “Selfie” Wolski. Top-laner Barney “Alphari” Morris and AD Carry Steven “Hands” Liv, along with support Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun, agreed to stick by as the original members of Misfits for the next season.
With the Misfits roster changes for the season ended, here is how the team stands:
- TOP: Barney “Alphari” Morris
- JUN: Lee “KaKAO” Byung-kwon
- MID: Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage
- ADC: Steven “Hands” Liv
- SUP: Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun
European esports organization Misfits was formed earlier this year from the ashes of Renegades after its disbanding. The group features a young group of talented players who successfully ran through the European Challenger Series in the Summer Split to qualify for the League Championship Series after defeating FC Schalke 04.
