Activision is offering a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare free weekend this weekend, allowing Xbox One and Playstation 4 owners that haven’t bought the game to play a portion of it for free from Thursday to Tuesday. PC players are, unfortunately for now, excluded from the free weekend for right now.
The Infinite Warfare free weekend comes only a short time after a Double Weapon XP weekend was announced for the game’s multiplayer, which allowed players in multiplayer to earn experience for their weapons faster. This is free weekend is likely for a similar reason as that double weapon Xp weekend; mainly trying to get more people playing the game.
People that take part in the free weekend will be able to play the first two missions of the game’s campaign, play the multiplayer with a cap at level 15, and play the zombie mode with a level 3 cap.
It’s been revealed lately that sales for the game have plummeted since November, despite the game coming with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered, which was a highly anticipated remake of what many people see as one of the best Call of Duty games.
Infinite Warfare got fairly good reviews when the game came out, but it seems like the enormous amount of backlash the game’s reveal trailer got (due to the game being set even farther into the future, which has lately become a complaint by Call of Duty fans) has killed the game’s chances of being a runaway success like the previous game in the franchise, Black Ops 3.
Infinite Warfare is the latest Call of Duty game from Infinity Ward, which published the last game in the franchise that received a mediocre reception, Call of Duty: Ghosts.
If Infinite Warfare catches your interest, then you can take part in the Infinite Warfare free weekend this coming Thursday.
