A Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare double weapon XP weekend is now live, and will last the entire weekend until December 12. The weekend gives Infinite Warfare players an opportunity to level up their weapons with double the amount of XP that would normally be given to your weapons after a multiplayer match.
Double XP weekends for both characters and your gear are nothing new for any first-erson shooter game that has a primary focus on multiplayer, as they happen fairly often to help people prestige their levels and get more progress. Considering that a lot of Call of Duty games and other genres like them also have weapon challenges nowadays, it could also help you complete those.
The Infinite Warfare double weapon XP weekend is available for all platforms that the game is on (Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC), and will be ending on Monday at 10 AM Pacific Time.
Infinite Warfare came out back in November, the normal release time for both Call of Duty and Battlefield games, but has seemingly quickly lost ground to its more anticipated companion, the remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, especially in terms of multiplayer.
While Infinite Warfare won praise for its single-player campaign, it did get criticism for a supposedly lackluster multiplayer component.
This Infinite Warfare double weapon XP weekend may be an attempt to get more people to play the game’s multiplayer, but whether or not that will be successful remains to be seen. While the game may get a bit of leeway with new DLC (especially if Modern Warfare Remastered doesn’t get any new stuff), it may take a lot more than a few Double XP weekends and some DLC to get Infinite Warfare to be played.
Either way, if you’re a fan of Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer, you can get in on the Double Weapon XP weekend all today and tomorrow and Sunday.
