Next Battlefield 1 Update To Improve Performance On PlayStation 4 Pro
DICE has been facing some backlash from PlayStation 4 Pro users as the last update somewhat compromised the texture quality on the upgraded console. DICE has identified a bug that is causing this issue and has announced that they will be fixing it with the next Battlefield 1 update.
According to DICE, the bug is related to the game’s dynamic resolution scaler which has affected the game’s performance on PlayStation 4 Pro. Development director Nils Hallberg explained that they have found the cause of this issue and it will be fixed soon with a new Battlefield 1 update.
We found an issue that explains a lot of the issues mentioned in this thread, e.g. FPS drops and blurry textures. The issue relates to the dynamic resolution where the minimum was too high. We have a fix for this for all platforms (except PC that does not use dynamic resolution) and it will be included in the next patch.
He further added that before the update 1.02 there was no minimum value for dynamic resolution and it was introduced in the update 1.04 which was calculated wrong way.
Before the patch (i.e. version 1.02) there was no minimum at all. In 1.04 we added a minimum but due to a bug that got calculated the wrong way and was set way too high. In the next patch we are going to have a minimum but it will be properly set. The quality of the textures are, since launch, untouched.
Also, DICE has been bringing new content to the game and recently the developer just added Line of Sight game mode which is a variant of the Rush mode.
In Battlefield 1 Line Of Sight game mode, players will only be able to choose between Medic class and the Scout class and there is a twist.
Battlefield 1 is a first-person action shooter developed by EA DICE for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
