Report: New Pokemon Incoming To Pokemon Go As A Part Of Starbucks Promotion
It seems that Niantic Labs is bringing new Pokemon to the Pokemon Go as a series of leaks have made their way to the internet suggesting an upcoming Starbucks promotion that involves Pokemon Go.
The leaks come from the Starbucks employee and suggest that most of the Starbucks outlets in the US will become a PokeStop or a Gym this Thursday. By visiting your local Starbucks players can order Pokémon GO Frappuccino, however, you don’t have to be the Pokemon Go player in order to have this drink.
The most interesting part of this leak is that it mentions that “The world of Pokemon Go is about to expand with new Pokémon and a new Starbucks beverage”. Last month a report made its way to the internet that 100 new Pokemon are going to be added to Pokemon Go.
It seems that Niantic will take this promotion as an opportunity to finally make these 100 new Pokemon available to the game. There is also a possibility that these new Pokemon might be exclusively found in Starbucks outlets.
Recently, Niantic Lab’s chief marketing officer Mike Quigley discussed the game’s launch and revealed that they seriously underestimated some aspects of the game.
We were overwhelmed by how [Pokémon Go] took off. The success of the product caught us out of position in a couple of areas. The summer was quite painful–no one slept much.
He also compared the success of the game with World Of Warcraft, saying that the game’s lifespan will not be like other free-to-play mobile titles.
Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game developed by Niantic Labs for Andriod and iOS.
