Blizzard Releases Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Hearthstone Expansion

Blizzard has now continued to support its free-to-play collectable card game Hearthstone with a new expansion, which just released today. Called “Mean Streets of Gadgetzan”, the expansion brings in new cards and mechanics for all nine classes, which are being divided among the three gangs focused on in the expansion’s backstory.

In the Warcraft universe, Gadgetzan is a goblin trading city that was established early in World of Warcraft’s existence. However, now that the game has been out for over a decade, Gadgetzan has grown as more trade and profit has come to its docks. And with all of that profit, comes crime. While nothing new for goblins (who are just as much thieves and gangsters as they are merchants and inventors), players will have to decide their loyalty among the three gangs.

Mean Streets of Gadgetzan’s cards are actually not entirely exclusive this time; multiple types of characters can use them, but only three can use the cards of any one gang. To start, there’s the Grimy Goons. The home of Warriors, Paladins, and Hunters, the Grimy Goons are big, dumb, and aggressive. Their cards focus on buffing your minions and powering up your weapons.

Next, we’ve got the Kabal. The home of Mages, Priests, and Warlocks, the Kabal focuses on spells and potions, and even have cards that rely on you having no duplicates in your deck, forcing you to pick carefully at what cards you think you need.

Finally, we have the Jade Lotus. The home of the Shamans, Rogues, and Druids, the Jade Lotus originates from Pandaria, and so includes a lot of pandaren, virmin, and more in its ranks. Their cards do things like summon Jade Golems, deadly murloc Finjas, and more.

With all of these new mechanics coming out, the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan expansion is sure to make Hearthstone a little bit nuttier. It’s been released now and can be played, so get out in the streets and wreak some havoc!
