Gamers have been asking for Crossplay between consoles and PC for competitive matches but the developers are avoiding it for obvious reasons. The Coalition has introduced the Crossplay in Gears Of War 4 but only in Co-Op. Now It seems that The Coalition had a change of heart as they have announced Gears Of War 4 Crossplay Weekend.
From the beginning, The Coalition has taken a firm stand that Crossplay for Gears Of War 4 will only be available in co-op. Now The Coalition has announced that through Gears Of War 4 Crossplay Weekend they will be taking the Crossplay in versus matches for a spin and will see how things work out.
What comes next after this hasn’t been decided – this weekend is an incredibly important first step in this process. Once we use the combination of our data and your feedback together, we’ll be able to make an informed next step (or not as the case may be). The key thing we want to stress is that we won’t be making any surprise changes all of a sudden based on this weekend.
For the duration of this weekend, The Coalition will be raising “the win / loss XP for match completion and allow squads of up to 5 players into this Social style playlist”.
PC and Xbox One will be able to matchmake starting tomorrow December 2nd until Monday, December 5.
Playlist Type: Social
Modes: Team Deathmatch, Dodgeball, King of the Hill
Maps: All (including Checkout and Dry Dock)
Win XP: 1500 (up from 600)
Loss XP: 750 (up from 100)
Maximum Squad Size: 5
According to the devs, “f you haven’t been in a match in Crossplay, we still want to hear your voice. Let us know your concerns or hopes for Crossplay Versus in this thread along with which platform you primarily play on.”
Gears Of War 4 is a third-person action adventure game developed by The Coalition for PC and Xbox One.
