After a long period of being exclusive to the Xbox One and PC, an Ark: Survival Evolved PS4 version is going to be coming out next week, allowing Playstation 4 players to get in on the dinosaur survival action as they try to survive. The version will contain the base game and its Scorched Earth expansion for $54.99.
Altogether, the version that will be coming to Playstation 4 will be called the Ark: Survivor’s Pack. In addition to the DLC and base game, the game will also include a small amount of Playstation 4 exclusive content, including a Bionic Gigantosaurus skin, along with a full set of Manticore armor for both males and females.
Gameplay in Ark: Survival Evolved centers around you and anyone else that you’re playing with attempting to survive in a hostile environment crawling with all sorts of prehistoric creatures, ranging from dinosaurs to dodos. Players start out with Stone Age technology, but can make their way up to guns and rockets by researching technology and getting new skills.
An Ark: Survival Evolved PS4 version is the third avenue that Studio Wildcard has brought out for their game, in contrast to other custom-built survival games like DayZ, which has yet to have a full release (being still in Early Access Alpha after three years of work) while Ark has advanced very quickly. While there was some controversy when the Scorched Earth DLC was released due to the game still being worked on when the DLC was released, that controversy has calmed down by now, since the game has continued forward in progression.
In the meantime, the Ark: Survival Evolved PS4 version will join with the Xbox One and PC versions of the game on December 6, so that Playstation 4 players can join in the fun of surviving against dinosaurs and taming them to ride.
