The Last Guardian Media Kit Includes A Letter From Fumito Ueda
The Last Guardian is just a week away from launch and hype for the game is increasing with every passing day. It took almost 8 years for Team ICO to develop the game and game designer Fumito Ueda has penned a letter to players that will be bundled with The Last Guardian Media Kit.
Square Enix delivered a The Last Guardian media kit to Eurogamer yesterday which was under embargo until today. The media kit contains the letter from games’ designer and director about the game’s almost decade-long development.
The message from Fumito Ueda references the long development cycle of The Last Guardian that saw the game from being a PlayStation 3 game to a PlayStation 4 game. He also noted that as Shadow Of Colossus was a unique game, The Last Guardian will also be very unique.
His message ends with an advice to players as they play and admire the scenery they must watch out for the ending. You can check out the full letter in the image below.
The last Guardian has been in development for 8 years and obviously a lot of things might have changed during that time. According to the devs, the vision for the game never changed and the game was designed to be timeless.
According to game designer Fumito Ueda, even it took 8 years for the team to develop The Last Guardian, but what players will see in the final product is our original vision for the game.
He further added that from the start the team wanted to create a game that will be timeless and we have been successful in doing so.
The Last Guardian is an action-adventure game developed by Team ICO and will launch on December 6, 2016 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
