Pokemon Sun and Moon Z-Crystals Locations, Z-Moves, Z-Ring
To use these movies, players need access to a Z-Ring as well as Pokemon Sun and Moon Z-Crystals that correspond to a specific type of a Z-Move. The Z-Ring is acquired as players progress through the story of Pokémon Sun and Moon while Z-Crystals are obtained from different places in the Alola region as players explore the world.
The Pokémon which is to use these Z-Moves must be holding the correct corresponding Z-Crystal and should be able to use that crystal, since there are some crystals in the game which are tied to specific Pokémon. The Pokémon also needs to know a move of the same type as the Z-Crystal.
Pokemon Sun and Moon has a total of 18 general Z-Crystals each corresponding to a different type of Pokémon. These general crystals can be used by any Pokémon for the corresponding move as long as it meets other criteria. There are also eight Pokémon specific Z-Crystals which can only be used by those specific Pokémon including Pikachu, Snorlax, Primarina and four others.
Generally, as a rule of thumb, Z-Moves that deal direct damage have more of an impact if paired with a strong attack.
