Dishonored 2 is just two days away from launch and fans are excited to get this game. Day one patches are nothing new to us, but they do present a problem as mostly these patches are massive and the game is unplayable until they download. Dishonored 2 will also be receiving a day-one patch for Xbox One and it’s also quite big.
Dishonored 2 day-one patch weighs 9GB in size for Xbox One. However, no details were revealed about what changes and improvements this patch will bring to the game.
There seems to be an abundance of day-one patches for games these days, specifically since the current generation of consoles has started. It seems that developers have become too lazy to release a finished product and as a result, we have to download these massive day-one patches.
While Bethesda is not known for using DRM for its games, but the publisher has decided to utilize the Denuvo Antitamper DRM tool for Dishonored 2 to stop the piracy.
As the release date for Dishonored 2 is getting closer, fans are assuming that Arkane Studios will move on to develop Dishonored 3 once they are done with the DLC for Dishonored 2. However, Harvey Smith, co-creative director at Arkane Studios, has made it clear that the development team has no plans to develop Dishonored 3.
He further explained that with the first Dishonored, he grew a bit sick of it, but the idea for the sequel involving Emily changed his perception, but as for the Dishonored 3, he is quite unsure of it.
Similarly, Bethesda has also clarified that as a publisher they don’t take a project as a franchise and focus on a single game at a time and also said that Dishonored 3 is irrelevant at this point of time.
Dishonored 2 is scheduled to launch on November 11, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
