Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the standalone downloadable DLC for Far Cry 3, will be the next game to be free on the Ubisoft Club on PC in celebration of Ubisoft’s 30th anniversary. Blood Dragon had gotten a “sequel” in the form of “Trials of the Blood Dragon”, from the developers of the “Trials” series.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon tells the tale of Rex Power Colt, a soldier in the far future where America is at war with the Communist Empire of Vietnam. Taking place in a neon-saturated island chain, the gameplay is essentially Far Cry 3. Rex is able to hunt cyborg animals while rescuing scientists (referred to as “nerds”) and taking bases, while driving cars and boats.
Despite how short it was, Blood Dragon proved to be fairly popular, enough to warrant a sequel that came out earlier this summer as a short game that told the story of Rex’s two children, Slayde and Roxanne, and their missions to defeat the Communist Empire of Vietnam, while at the same time trying to avenge their father.
This journey takes them all over the world, through space, through hell, and to get a variety of artifacts in a journey that goes through a huge amount of different pulp-style fiction “movies”.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is the next game that Ubisoft Club members will be able to play on their PCs. Currently players are able to get Beyond Good and Evil, the classic game from 2003 that has long been awaiting confirmation of a sequel.
Since the year is almost over for Ubisoft, it’s likely that Blood Dragon is the second-to-last game that’s going to be coming out for the 30th Anniversary promotion. There’s no telling what Ubisoft will end up putting out for free on PC after a year of putting out some of their best, but it’ll hopefully be good.
