Sony Has Provided The Solution For PlayStation VR Image Drift Issue

Sony is well aware of the PlayStation VR image drift issue and has provided to reduce the issue if not completely eliminate it.

Earlier this month Sony entered the virtual reality market with its PlayStation VR, and the release has been smooth for the headset. While the gamers are impressed with the lineup of games at launch, but this virtual reality headset did not came with the issues of it own, and the most prominent issue is the PlayStation VR Image Drift that has the entire picture drifting to one side.

However, Sony is well aware of the PlayStation VR image drifting issue, and the company has also provided a solution to avoid it from happening in the future.

If your DualShock 4 wireless controller is connected to your PS4 system with the charging cable, this can sometimes interfere with the PlayStation Camera’s view of the light bar. Play wirelessly to stop this issue.

  • Recommended distance from camera for play is approximately 1.5 m – 2.0 m (5 – 7ft).
  • Place the camera in a vibration-free location.
  • Adjust the height, direction, and angle of the camera.
  • Play directly in front of the camera.

Following the above steps might reduce the PlayStation VR image drift issue if not completely eliminate it.

While the main purpose of PlayStation VR is to fully immerse players into the game, but Sony has also confirmed that the VR headset will also have non-gaming applications too. According to SIE Worldwide Studios chairman, Shawn Layden, PS VR will have non-gaming applications and users will not see it coming.

You probably won’t see that coming from our Worldwide Studios, because that’s not what we do. We do games… but there’s a lot of interest from the film and television arts community.

Last month Sony revealed PlayStation 4 Pro, which is an upgraded version of the original PS4. While the games will definitely benefit from the upgraded hardware, but the PS VR will also benefit from it.
