It seems that once again, another AAA game has been leaked ahead of release on consoles. According to a recent tweet sent out to by Shahroz, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare copies are already available in UAE stores.
Shahroz tweeted out an image to CharlieIntel of the physical version of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare for PS4. The image shows Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Remastered version included in the package as well.
According to Shahroz, these Call of Duty Infinite Warfare copies are available at a small retailer in UAE. No doubt other retailers will follow suit and start stocking up or even selling the game pretty soon as the launch is only 9 days away.
Leaked game copies isn’t really that big of a deal any more despite attempts by publishers and distributors to curb this trend. Since bulk of PC games are digital, the problem is only prevalent when it comes to console games.
In some cases, especially when it comes to multiplayer titles, the issue is countered by developers by keeping the servers off until the launch day or a day before that, similar to what Ubisoft did with Tom Clancy’s Division.
However, considering that Call of Duty has a singleplayer mode too, it is unlikely that there will be some measure implemented in the game to prevent players from playing before launch. This means that pretty soon spoilers will start pouring in alongside gameplay videos all over the internet.
Since there was no purchase receipt attached with the image of the leaked game copy, it is possible that the guy just took the picture at a store and retailers aren’t selling the game as of yet, although you have to be very optimistic to hope for such a thing.
We will update here if more leaked Call of Duty Infinite Warfare copies emerge before the release which is on 4th November for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
