Dark Souls 3 is the last entry in the franchise and after the release of the panned DLCs for the game, From Software will be moving ahead towards new projects. Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel is the first DLC to release for the game, which will launch later in October.
A new batch of screenshots have been revealed for the Dark Souls 3 Ashes Of Ariandel by this week’s Famitsu. The screenshots give us a new look at the expansion’s enemies, environments and spells that players will be able to cast. Checkout the screenshots below.
A new patch for Dark Souls 3 is scheduled to launch on October 21, that will bring the game to version 1.08. In addition to several bug fixes and gameplay changes, the upcoming patch will also address an important stat for players with Heavy Weapon/Armor builds called Poise. The stat has been present in the game since its inception, but according to many, does not affect anything unlike the franchise’s earlier installments.
While we know Dark Souls 3 Ashes Of Ariandel will be coming later this month, not much details have been revealed by From Software. In a recent interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that Dark Souls 3 will add 15 hours worth of gameplay with the expansion.
He further revealed that players will be visiting a “Painted World” similar to the Painted World of Ariamis from Dark Souls 1, and will take you into a hidden world inside an enchanted painting.
While the fans of the franchise are asking for a sequel to the Dark Souls 3, From Software is is standing firm over its decision that it will be the last game for the franchise. However, he did leave the possibility open for “HD Remakes” of older games in the series for new consoles.
Dark Souls 3 Ashes Of Ariandel is scheduled to launch on October 25, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
