Last week Diablo 2 project and design lead, David Brevik, tweeted that he is becoming an advisor of an action-RPG that “pushes this genre to new heights.” Soon after this tweet, fans started to speculate that he might be returning to the Diablo franchise, especially when Blizzard is already teasing the possibility of Diablo 4.
However, its not the next Dibalo game, David himself has clarified that he is working on the free-to-play Path Of Exile. He announced his involvement with Path Of Exile in a recent press release, that he has signed up with Grinding Gears Games to bring Path Of Exile to China.
Studio boss Chris Wilson has also confirmed to PC Invasion that Davis is only working as an advisor for the launch of the game in China.
David is an advisor, primarily for our launch in mainland China, but we hope to learn from his experience as much as we can over the coming months.
While David is not returning to Blizzard for the next Diablo game, there have been rumors that Diablo 4 will be revealed during BlizzCon 2016. According to a youtuber, he was recently gifted a BlizzCon promo pack which contained some goodies from Blizzard, one of which was a D4, a four-sided die.
So what do you think of David Brevik’s involvement with Patch Of Exile? Let us know in the comments.
