Destiny update 2.4.1 has finally gone live on the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One, bringing in a variety of new mechanics and adjustments to the game’s weapons, abilities, and more. Particular focus has been given to the Light mechanics for player leveling. The Heroic Mode of the raid has also come out.
Light is used as a leveling mechanic past the regular experience you get from completing missions and killing enemies. Ever since its implementation in the first year of the game, Light level is dependent on the gear that you wear, not the enemies you kill, causing the post-game gear grind to actually have a point. Light level is also a requirement for players to be able to go on the story missions for the game’s expansions and raids.
In Destiny update 2.4.1, numerous updates have been given to the Archon’s Forge challenge arena, SIVA Strike, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and more to give you better gear from drops so that you can increase your Light level as fast as possible. Various reward packages from factions and the Vanguard will also have increased chances of dropping high-level gear and artifacts, as well.
Other adjustments made in Destiny update 2.4.1 include numerous adjustments to emblems, exotics, some of the elements of the user interface, and even dealing with sparrow racing.
However, in addition to the Light level increases, Destiny update 2.4.1 has given players the ability to run through the Rise of Iron raid, Wrath of the Machine, on Heroic Mode. Before today, Wrath of the Machine was available for players that had gotten to 385 Light.
However, playing the raid’s Heroic Mode will require players to get to the new cap of 400 Light in order to put down the Devil Splicers and SIVA once and for all.
