With the Civilization 6 launch coming ever closer (now being only a few days away, this Friday), Firaxis has released a number of different media things in order to inform its fans of when the game will be available to pre-load and officially download, along with a launch trailer for it.
The trailer follows what appears to be Sean Bean’s character and his daughter as they journey across history, ranging from the Iron Age to the Renaissance, to World War 2 and the space age. Backed up by Christopher Tin’s score, the trailer is a beautiful work of art that charts the progress of history across its whole runtime.
Also included in the Civilization 6 launch information include the game’s preload times across the world, starting from Australia to Europe and then the Americas, along with the game’s launch times. In Australia and Asia, players will be getting the game at 3 in the morning on Australian Eastern Daylight Time, Europe and Africa at 12 AM British Summer Time, and the Americas at 12 AM Eastern Time.
If you’ve pre-ordered the game on Steam, you can also now pre-load it so that when the game officially releases you won’t have to wait for it to download before you drop in.
The Civilization 6 launch will include a wide variety of civilizations such as the Aztecs, Rome, England, the United States, Germany, and France, with each of these civilizations having a wide variety of units and playstyles that can cater to all of your preferred victory types as you lead your civilization to new heights.
With luck, the Civilization 6 launch will herald a return to the well-made classics that Firaxis seemed to have dropped away from with Civilization: Beyond Earth and Sid Meier’s Starships, both of which got only a middling reception and were seen as a somewhat unwelcome turn away from the Civilization games we all know and love.
