According to UK’s Empire Cinemas, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie will be more than 2-hour long, 140 minutes to be exact, excluding trailers and other advertisements that run during a show.
Since the Assassin’s Creed movie is set in the present world as well as 15th century Spanish Inquisition and revolves around the conflict between assassins and Templars, action and violence are to be expected with some signature stealth kills thrown in as well.
Ubisoft has previously stated that it is confident the movie will perform well and given the praise the Warcraft movie received from fans, it is likely more gamers will turn up to check out a live action version of one of Ubisoft’s biggest IP.
Of course, given that the movie is releasing in December and close to Star Wars Rogue One, it will definitely have a tough time making its mark on the box office.
Hopefully, the incredible talent behind the movie including director Justin Kurzel and actors Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Marion Cotillard should help.
Ubisoft also shared a few images from the movie recently showcasing the main character Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar.
The official synopsis of the movie states:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
The Assassin’s Creed movie is scheduled to release in US on 21st December.
