Nintendo NX has been in the news for quite some time, but Nintendo has been very quite about when the console will be revealed, and its unnerving. Previous rumors have suggested that the Nintendo NX reveal would be coming on October 21, and the rumors seems right.
In a post on the Nintendo developers forums, which was pointed out by reddit user GamoTron21, Nintendo of Europe representative Ulysse Richert-Botté revealed that Nintendo NX reveal and new details will be revealed this year, and also added that developer tools will be available to smaller development houses on a later date.
Recently, another leak made its way to the internet, which came directly from a worker of a very large retailer who had access to marketing material, bundles and other information. According to the source, Nintendo NX poster has phrases like “game on the go”, and many posters has Mario branding on them suggesting that a Mario game will be a lunch title for Nintendo NX.
Also the leak suggests that Nintendo NX will support cartridges, which has been mentioned in many previous rumors and leaks. Also the console will support 4k streaming, and the console is capable of 1080p at 60 fps gaming.
- Games will be on cartridges
- 4k streaming has been mentioned. – What this likely means is playback of content such as Netflix, etc. Not gameplay.
- 1080p and 60fps are being used by the marketing teams in relation to gameplay on to the console portion. I’ve heard unconfirmed rumblings of 900p for the infamous hybrid part of the device.
No official reveal date has been mentioned by Nintendo and the console is expected to launch in March 2017, and Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild is expected to be a launch title.
