EA Sports has sent out a Madden NFL 17 free trial onto the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, allowing gamers that haven’t bought the game yet to play it for free until October 10. The trial will allow players to explore all of the new game mechanics that have become available in the new game.
Madden NFL 17 is the latest iteration in the Madden NFL series, one of the premiere sports simulator series that are on consoles these days. New mechanics in the game allow players to access tiered skill moves that they can use to shake off opposing players attempting to tackle them, or do the opposite, getting runners that are trying to score a touchdown.
The Madden NFL 17 free trial is rather atypical for a console release; normally free game trials are done as demos or are put up on the Xbox Games with Gold service, or the Playstation Plus system, both of which can give gamers at least two free games a month. However, considering it’s only for a limited time, it’s likely only to get more people interested in the game.
Madden NFL 17 came out several months ago on August 23, so EA may have started the free trial in order to promote the actual football season, which started back in early September, if you’re the kind of person into American football.
The Madden NFL 17 free trial also includes a Play the Moments mode, which allows players to drop into various games at crucial moments to see if you can pull off the Hail Mary passes and miracle runs that won games for teams at the last minute.
Madden NFL 17 is available on the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, and if you haven’t bought it yet this free weekend is the perfect opportunity to go and try it for yourself, if you’re curious about it or just want to test it out if you’re bored.
