Call Of duty is one of the those franchises that release a game every year and sells like hot cake. While we have seen somewhat of a decline in the franchise’s popularity, but it is far from being an obsolete one. According to Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotic, a lot of consideration and care goes to the every game of the Call Of Duty franchise.
Speaking with Forbes, Bobby Kotic explained that the company’s focus is their audience for their franchise, and it is the company’s responsibility to continuously innovate every game in the series, and feels that it is the tremendous responsibility of the company to keep the franchise exciting for gamers.
Our priority is audience focus–the recognition and appreciation that our audiences invest so much in our franchises and our responsibility to them to continually innovate within those. We feel a tremendous responsibility to our audiences to keep our franchises exciting.
He further talked about the benefit of creating a new game for an already existing franchise is that the developers already know what their audience wants.
You have an understanding of their expectations. You then take your inspired, creative teams and think about those franchises and what you want to create that is going to delight, surprise, and entertain your fans–all with a lot of knowledge about what actually matters to them and what’s important.
Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare is the next entry in the long running franchise, and COD Modern Warfare Remastered will also release alongside it. However, gamers have not particularly shown love to the futuristic approach of the company towards the game.
Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
