Gears of War Interview: Gears 4 “Wraps Up the Narrative Neatly,” The Coalition Talks About the Future of Gears of War
Gears of War series was created by Epic Games for Xbox machines for Microsoft. The series is widely popular among Xbox fans. Microsoft bought the franchise from Epic Games and handed it over to The Coalition, the studio which is developing Gears of War 4.
The game is releasing in a few days for Xbox One and Windows 10. The series is moving forward with new characters and storyline. We spoke with The Coalition about Gears of War 4 and how will it play a role in moving the series forward.

First, the studio confirmed that there will be more Gears games. Microsoft has made a major investment in the franchise and plans to release more games in the future. Moreover, the studio stated that Gears of War 4’s narrative may not answer every question but it wraps things up neatly.
It will leave players speculating about where future games will take them. Chuck Osieja – Creative Director at The Coalition said:
Yes, I think it’s safe to say that more Gears of War is planned for the future. When Microsoft acquired the Gears Franchise we knew that there was going to be a significant investment in growing the Gear of War IP.
Because of that, we were able to write a story that could have more depth and negative space. Everything didn’t have to be answered in Gears of War 4. Although we wrap up the narrative neatly, we also see some things that I think will get the fans talking, and speculating about where we’re going, and what certain events from the game mean to the larger Gears of War universe. That’s why I’m so excited for fans to start playing. I’m interested in the speculation about where they think we’re taking the story in future games.
Marcus Fenix is returning in Gears 4 but it may be the last we’ll ever get to see him. His son, J.D Fenix, is taking over Gears of War.
It is also good to know that there will be more games but don’t expect to see the next installment anytime soon. We also spoke about PvP and how they will handle Project Scorpio version.
