Less than one week remains before we can get our hands on the highly anticipated Gears Of War 4. While the game has gone gold, Microsoft has started to produce discs for the game. And as we know that day one patches has become a norm, the developers has announced that there will be a “Gears Of War 4 Day One Patch” but only for the dics version.
The Coalition’s studio head, Rod Fergusson, announced on his official Twitter account that Gears Of War 4 day one patch will be for the disc version, and it will be 11 GB in size. As for the digital version there will be no day one patch, as all 54.6 GB of files will be downloaded.
To clarify – if digital, no day one patch since all 54.6 gigs are downloaded. If physical disk then there will be 11 gig download.

However, this statement contradicts with Fergusson’s earlier statement that there will be no day one patch for Gears Of War 4.
While Gears Of War 4 is scheduled to release in the second week of October, however, those who pre-ordered the game will have early access to the game on October 7. The Coalition has announced that the review embargo for Gears Of War 4 will be lifted ahead of early access on October 6, 2016.
