With the announcement that Gears of War 4 has gone golden, The Coalition and G4 have decided to put out a video of the Gears of War 4 multiplayer Guardian mode, one of the multiple modes that you can play in Multiplayer. We also get to see some of the new weapons for the game in action.
Taking place on the map “Gridlock“, which has been in Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3, the Gears of War 4 multiplayer Guardian mode requires players to safeguard their leader, a golden-colored player that gives their team unlimited respawns while they’re alive.
When the leader dies, players get no respawns, so unless you can take out the other team’s leader and kill them all as well, losing them is a death sentence.
During the 2-minute-long video of the Gears of War 4 Guardian mode’s gameplay, we also get to see some of the game’s new weapons in action, such as the submachine gun called the Enforcer, and a new type of grenade, the Shock Grenade.
While Gears of War is no stranger to different kinds of grenades (having the regular Frag grenade, along with the Smoke and Ink grenades), the Shock Grenade appears to be a COG version of the ink grenade, both denying a bit of space to the enemy while also damaging them and slowing them down if they step into it.
While it isn’t as highly anticipated as Gears of War 4’s newest Horde Mode iteration coming with the game, the Gears of War multiplayer is still a well-liked portion of the game, with multiple achievements in each game related to how many kills you end up getting.
Gears of War 4 won’t be coming out until October 11, so in the meantime players will just have to sit and watch the internet to see how the Gears of War 4 multiplayer looks.
