The Playstation Plus October games have been revealed, and finally Playstation has given its Playstation Plus subscribers actual good games to download for free. The first of these is the remake of the survival horror classic Resident Evil, while the other is Platinum Games’s Transformers: Devastation, a character action game.
Previous Playstation Plus games have often been criticized by Playstation Plus members for being terrible, as the games included in those offers are often either mediocre in quality or outright bad. Resident Evil and Transformers: Devastation are the first two games in several months that have actually been quality.
The Playstation Plus October games come after the Dark Souls-inspired RPG Lords of the Fallen and thatgamecompany’s arcade game Journey. Both games, while pretty, don’t really give much of a satisfying experience (unless you’re just looking to relax with Journey).
Resident Evil and Transformers are both more fast-paced games that will get your blood pumping, either through Resident Evil’s zombie frights or Transformer’s fast-paced combat.
However, it seems that other Playstation Plus October games on the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita aren’t nearly as good in their offerings. The Playstation 3 will be getting From Dust (a sort of god game where you protect a tribe of people from disasters by altering the landscape) and Mad Riders (an ATV racing game), while the Vita will be getting Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ (a visual novel) and Actual Sunlight (an interactive story where you control (or attempt to control) a depressed man.
Depending on the reception of these games and if you’ve been wanting a game that will invoke a strong emotional response in you, you may or may not end up liking the Playstation Plus October games, but at least if you have a Playstation 4 you can have a pair of fairly good games.
