Gears Of War 4 is less then two weeks away from launch, and as the game has gone gold, developer The Coalition just revealed the first 20 minutes of Gears Of War 4 prologue. The gameplay showcased by the developers was stunning, and many speculated that the gameplay might have been recorded from the PC version. Well that is not the case.
According to studio head of The Coalition, Rod Fergusson, Gears Of War 4 prologue was not captured from PC version of the game nor from Xbox One S, but it was recorded straight from a standard Xbox One.
For those who caved and watched the Prologue today, it was captured from a standard Xbox One. #GearsofWar4

While Gears Of War 4 is a sequel to the original Gears Of War trilogy, but that was not always the case. Recently, The Coalition’s Chuck Osieja revealed that Gears Of War 4 was almost a prequel instead of a sequel.
We actually sat around, when Rod [Fergusson, formerly of Gears’ original developer, Epic Games] first joined, we sat around for a few days and talked about what we could do. Do you go back and tell – well, there’s a ton of lore in the Gears’ world.
However, the developers scrapped the idea of a prequel as it was not the right direction for the series.
Gears Of War franchise is known for its story telling, characters, action and split screen co-op. While we know that split screen co-op will be returning in Gears Of War 4 on Xbox One, the developer has also announced that PC version of the game will also support split screen co-op.
Gears Of War 4 is scheduled to launch on October 11, 2016 exclusively for PC and Xbox One.
