Ubsioft Says The New Assassin’s Creed Game Will Revolutionize The IP

Assassin’s Creed is one of the most popular game franchises from Ubisoft. While Assassin’s Creed games came out every year, this year the company chose to skip it to reinvent the franchise in the coming year. According to Ubisoft CEO, the new Assassin’s Creed game will be available in the market when it is ready.

Speaking with GameSpot, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained the reason behind to skip the next Assassin’s Creed game this year and why it is the right time to do so. According to Guillemot the new Assassin’s Creed game, which is rumored to be called Empire, has the potential to take the series to another level, and they are taking all the time to make it happen.

What we saw in the development of the next [Assassin’s Creed] was that we had an opportunity to take it to another level. So we said we’ll take all the time it takes to make the experience fantastic. It was feasible because we have other games. There’s a huge potential in this game to revolutionize the IP, so we said, “Let’s make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience.

When asked about what he meant by “Let’s give it the time it needs”, Guillemot replied that the new Assassin’s Creed game will be available when its ready and that will be “when we feel we have something there”. When asked “And that isn’t necessarily 2017”, he said “Yeah. It will be when it’s ready”.

Ubisoft is skipping the next Assassin’s Creed game this year but that does not mean nothing Assassin’s Creed related is coming out this year, as Assassin’s Creed movie is scheduled to release later, which will star Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.
