Rocksteady Will Work on Its “Dream Game” Thanks to WB Backing

UK studio Rocksteady, the creator of Batman Arkham Games, just finished development on Batman VR that would release soon. The game is now submitted to Sony for PlayStation VR.

But what’s next for Arkhamverse creator? The studio will now be working on its dream project with complete backing from WB, the publisher of Batman Arkham games.

However, the split from Batman won’t be easy for the entire development team. In fact, it feels like break up to them. According to producer Dax Ginn:

I think there’s a little bit of sadness on the team. It feels like… breaking up? [The mood] is really split – there’s a feeling in the office like, it’s definitely time to do something else – we all accept that. But we all know Batman so well – we all feel comfortable in the Arkhamverse.

We’re definitely letting go of that comfort blanket and putting ourselves in the position where whatever we do next is going to feel very different. There’s always an anxiety associated with change and that’s where we want to be. We want to feel uncomfortable because we want to make awesome stuff

Ginn and his development team do not know what is next for the team. The studio has some time to decide what’s next but whatever it will be, it is safe to say that the project will have credibility thanks to the massive success of Arkham series of Rocksteady.

Some wonder if a Superman game would work but we highly doubt even Rocksteady can pull off a successful Superman game. Due to the nature of Superman’s abilities, such a game is not easy to design.

What type of game do you think Rocksteady should work on?
