From Software has made it clear that Dark Souls 3 marks the end for the Drak Souls franchise, and rather than to work on a sequel they are working on a new IP. Now the game developing studio has confirmed that a new Armored Core game is in the works and also teased a weird new game.
Speaking with Kotaku, From Software boss Hidetaka Miyazaki, confirmed that a new Armored Core game is in development, but it is in early stages.
We are making a new Armored Core. We are still in the early stages of development.
When asked about what he meant by early he said that “I can’t talk about how early it is”.
The latest entry in the mech-focused Armored Core series was 2013’s Armored Core: Verdict Day for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
From Software is not only developing a new Armored Core game, Miyazaki confirmed that they are also working on a new game. Miyazaki described the game as weird, when asked that game is weird in which regard he said the game’s genre is what’s weird.
When I say ‘weird,’ the genre might be a little weird|. The game is weird. But we are diligently making it in all seriousness, so I just want people to know that when they think it’s strange.
Recently, Miyazaki made it clear that that Dark Souls 3 marks the end of the series as a whole. According to him, it is time for the team to move on from the franchise, however, he said that as a president he can’t deny the possibility of the return of the franchise.
However, he did teased that fans might see HD Remakes of older games in the franchise for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
