Assassin’s Creed Franchise Becomes One of Ubisoft’s Biggest IPs, 100 Million Copies Sold
Assassin’s Creed Franchise kicked off back in 2006 with the release of an amazing entry, Assassin’s Creed. The game was received well by both critics and fans.
The following entries only solidified the fact that this franchise is here to stay. However, over the years it became stale and dull, especially, after the departure of Ezio.
But didn’t stop Assassin’s Creed Franchise to sell 100 million units across the globe. According to Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed series has sold 100 million copies on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, handheld devices and mobile.
Creating an Assassin’s Creed game is no easy task. It takes the creativity and hard work of many people in many different Ubisoft studios all over the world. To have this franchise join the ranks of those that have reached more than 100m sold is a testament to the teams that have taken on that challenge over the years
Ubisoft is taking a break this year from Assassin’s Creed franchise so there won’t be a new entry. The step was taken to ensure the quality of the product that comes out next. Ubisoft hopes to bring this franchise back with a bang and be around for years to come, hopefully, selling another 100 million units.
But rest assured, your cravings of assassinating templars won’t go unfulfilled this year. Ubisoft is releasing Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection for consoles.
The collection will be coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4 on November 17, so they’d be a good Christmas gift to a friend that’s a fan of the series, or maybe even a good Black Friday deal if a store has the game on sale.
