DOn’t be worried if you’re worried that you can’t buy a Playstation 4 Pro and keep the games that you’ve already put on your old console’s memory. According to Playstation and Sony, the Playstation 4 Pro data transfer function allows you to keep all of your old game data, so you won’t have to worry about losing anything on its memory card.
All you need in order to go through the Playstation 4 Pro data transfer is a simple ethernet cable, which you can pick up at any electronics store, and the 4.0 software update, which will come out soon after the Pro launches with the 3.7 software version. Simply plug the cable’s ends into your vanilla Playstation 4 and the Playstation 4 Pro, and select the option to transfer its data, and you’ll be golden.
The data transfer’s ease and simplicity is a far cry from the nerve-wracking process that came between the Nintendo 3DS and the new 3DS. Hopefully, at the same time, it will work out, and will also allow you to keep playing games without having to re-download them, which (if you’re one of those very fortunate people that hasn’t deleted PT from their Playstation 4. Since the demo has been removed from the Playstation store, if it needs to be downloaded in order to keep playing you probably won’t be able to play it again.
Otherwise, with the Playstation 4 Pro data transfer available, you can port all of your old stuff over to your Playstation 4 Pro, so if you’re looking to sell your Playstation 4 you can do it without having to worry about your games going to someone else; just wipe its memory after you get done with the transfer and you can sell it without any kind of worry.
The Playstation 4 Pro will be releasing on November 10 for $399, so it could be a good Christmas present to yourself.
