Report: PlayStation 4 Neo Specs Not Upgraded, New Tech Demo To Showcase 4K/30 FPS

Sony is all set for PlayStation Meeting where it will discuss all things PlayStation, and there is possibility that Sony will finally reveal PlayStation 4 Neo and PlayStation 4 Slim at the event. While there was a report last month that Sony was worried about PlayStation 4 Neo Specs and is looking for new opportunities to increase the specs, it seems that is not the case. According to insider Daniel Ahmad, PlayStation 4 Neo specs are the same that leaked earlier this year. According to the leak, PS4 Neo is around 4.2 Teraflops, which is below Microsoft’s Xbox One Scorpio 6 Teraflops. He said that those who were hopping that Sony would look for opportunity for higher specs will be disappointed.

The insider also posted that a Japanese company has developed a demo for PlayStation 4 Neo with their new game engine that will showcase the capabilities of Sony’s upcoming console. According to the insider the demo will run at 4K resolution and 30 FPS, and 1080p and 90fps for PlayStation 4 Neo.

In related new, recently another report surfaced on the internet that suggests PlayStation 4 Neo is going to cost $399 while the slim PlayStation 4 is coming our way at $299.

While there has been a debate since the reveal of Xbox One Scorpio, that whether or not the upgraded consoles are good for the game industry or not. Well according to Pete Moore it is a good thing.

I think Sony and Microsoft have done this incredibly well. They have taken what they needed to do whether it’s 4K… to keep the platform fresh for technology that’s moving faster than the archaic nature of a 10-year piece of hardware cycle.
