While it is natural that every developer wants it game to be as popular as any other game franchise in the industry. However, Joseph Staten, recently revealed that the devs want ReCore to be as successful as Halo, but also realizes they have to earn that success.
Well, when we made Halo 1 at Bungie we didn’t know we were going to get to do a sequel. We wanted to get the best game possible onto the disc, and then hope people enjoyed it. We earned a sequel. Every game in the global publishing portfolio – whether it’s ReCore, or Crackdown or Scalebound – we have aspirations and hopes that they can go on and grow into ‘big boy’ franchises like Gears, Forza or Halo. But you have to earn that success. You have to build an audience.
We all know that $60 is the standard price for games, but ReCore will be available for $40. According to Xbox marketing manager Aaron Greenberg, ReCore’s price is $40, to increase its chances to be successful.
So that’s why we priced it at $40. We hope that will increase its chances of having success as a new IP.
ReCore is an action adventure game in development at Armature Studio for PC and Xbox One. The game will release on September 13, 2016.
