Now that Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection has been confirmed, we have a few more details about what we can expect when we once again dive into the adventures of the Italian assassin that dominated the story for an entire trilogy of games. These include all of its DLC, along with the short films that accompanied it.
The Assassin’s Creed 2 series, which all revolved around the Italian assassin Ezio Auditore, were all touted as a wide improvement over the first Assassin’s Creed game. In addition to that it introduced a heavy amount of new lore to the setting, along with a number of Assassin tools that are still used in the most recent games.
Ezio’s story also got two other short films to go along with it: Assassin’s Creed: Embers, which told the story of an aging Ezio helping a Chinese Assassin named Shao Jun, who later became the protagonist of the China section of Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles, and Assassin’s Creed: Lineage, the short film that came out before Assassin’s Creed 2 and told the story of Ezio’s father, a former Assassin.
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will also include every piece of DLC for all three games, and the games will run in 1080p resolution, though players will still have to deal with a 30 frames per second framerate.
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is actually reputed to be releasing in November, according to the original leak on the Gameblog website. However, Ubisoft has yet to say if the collection even exists, bringing to mind Warner Bros and their Return to Arkham Collection, which was only officially announced after many leaks shortly before it released…and was then delayed.
Hopefully The Ezio Collection won’t be like that, but until November rolls around or at least gets close, we’ll have to just trust these leaks and hope that three of the best Assassin’s Creed games will be coming to current-gen consoles.
