The highly anticipated Deus Ex Mankind Divided finally released last week and was an instant hit. The game easily managed to reach the top of the UK All Format charts becoming the highest sold game in the region for the week ending on 27th August 2016.
However, despite having a very strong opening week, the sequel to Human Revolution was unable to beat its predecessor in number of sales in the first week. According to UKIE, the reason for these less sales of Deus Ex Mankind Divided could probably be because of the install base of their respective console generations.
Human Revolution launched in 2011 on PS3 and Xbox 360, both consoles with almost double the users than the current generation of PS4 and Xbox One users.
Since there are no exact sales figures from Square Enix as of yet, it is unclear how the game fared in other regions but considering all the hype surrounding it and no big AAA singleplayer release in the same week, it is highly unlikely that the game had trouble selling in other regions.
Some of the other new releases of the week such as Madden NFL 17 and Attack on Titan Wings of Freedom also managed to reach the top 10 in UK, debuting at No.5 and No.10 respectively.
The full Top 10 Sales list is listed below, with Grand Theft Auto V once again in the list despite having been released 3 years ago.
1. DEUS EX: MANKIND DIVIDED
2. F1 2016
3. NO MAN’S SKY
5. MADDEN NFL 17
6. UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF’S END
7. LEGO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS
8. ASSETTO CORSA
9. GRAND THEFT AUTO V

The list does not contain Blizzard’s World of Warcraft expansion, Legion since the game launched today and information regarding pre orders wasn’t available. Although, given the scale and fanbase behind the Warcraft universe, the game might end up topping the sales charts next week.
