Nvidia has always brought some sweet new technologies for PC games, and some are even exclusive to only Nvidia graphic card users. Nvidia works with game developers closely to bring new technologies like Nvidia Gameworks for PC gamers. Since Gears Of War 4 is coming to PC, so Nvidia is bringing its PC tech to the game.
Speaking with NGN(Nvidia Gaming Network), Creative director for Gears Of War 4, Chuck Osieja, discussed how Nvidia PC technologies have helped The Coalition to develop the best PC gaming experience possible.
According to Chuck Osieja, one of the biggest feature in Gears Of War 4 is the “Wind Flares”, whic hare giant wind storm that can occur anytime while playing the game. He said that Nvidia Physx helped the developers to fully realize scope of these Wind Flares.
He also said that usually these kind on moments are usually scripted, but with Nvidia Physx these Wind Flares can happen anywhere in the game. It also impacts the overall gameplay, like how the player moves in the environment, and it can also destroy covers. In his own words “it has made them realize some stuff that were not able to do otherwise”.
It is great to see that Nvidia is pushing harder to bring new tech to PC games that make the experience more immersive. However, there is one slight problem with these technologies, as they are optimized for Nvidia cards only, and creates issues for players with AMD graphic cards.
We hope that The Coalition will not leave the AMD graphic card owners behind, and will properly optimize the game for their systems.
In related news, recently Chuck Osieja, confirmed that Marcus Fenix will not be playable in the singleplayer of the upcoming game, and the campaign will focus on the new crew.
Gears Of War 4 is scheduled to release on October 11, 2016 for PC and Xbox One.
