The Xbox console’s September Games With Gold have finally been revealed, and in addition to two great games (Mirror’s Edge and Forza Horizon), we’ve also got a rather…alright game (Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China) and one game that’s actually releasing for free (Earthlock: Festival of Magic).
These four games: Mirror’s Edge, Forza Horizon, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, and Earthworks: Festival of Magic, are all going to be used in the September Games with Gold slot. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles and Mirror’s Edge will be available in the second half of the month for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and Forza Horizon and Earthlock will both be available from September 1 to September 15.
Among these, Earthlock is actually an oddity. The game is slated to release on September 1 on the Xbox One and PC, with a subsequent release for Playstation 4 and Wii U coming at a later date. Earthlock is supposed to be an irregular turn-based role-playing game.
The September Games with Gold offering has something for everyone: if you want a rather fast game that keeps you on your toes, you can get Mirror’s Edge, especially if Catalyst left you either disappointed or wanting more. If you want a side-scrolling stealth game, you can go for Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, and maybe you’ll like it enough to pick up the other games in the Chronicles trilogy as well.
If you’re looking for a fun racing game that you can play with your friends, you can definitely go for Forza Horizon, especially if you’re waiting for the other Gran Turismo or Forza games that still have yet to come out for a while longer.
And if you’re looking for something new to play, and are also in the mood for an RPG, the September Games with Gold offering of Earthlock can give you a chance to try a new game for free.
