If you’ve bought or followed No Man’s Sky up until now you should know that a No Man’s Sky Xbox One port is missing. The game is only available on Playstation 4 and PC, and the latter of the two is already not impressing people. But will there ever be an Xbox One version of the game?
No Man’s Sky made waves at every E3 and gaming convention it attended, with many people drawn to its touted near-limitless galaxy, with billions of planets being explored by millions of players at once. The game is, currently, exclusive for the Playstation 4 and PC, but Sean Murray, the head of Hello Games, hinted towards the possibility of an Xbox One version in a recent interview.
In said interview, Murray didn’t know what exactly he was allowed to disclose about No Man’s Sky or the possibility of a No Man’s Sky Xbox One port, but it’s possible that Xbox One players may be able to explore the universe sometime soon.
On the other hand, Sony may block anything like that. The game’s sheer amount of anticipation has allowed it to be one of the hottest games on the Playstation 4 right now even with a small amount of controversy and unmet expectations. Considering that No Man’s Sky will likely only get better as Hello Games continues to update it, Sony will likely want to keep the game solely under their control for as long as possible.
Murray was unable to say anything else before he was interrupted by a Sony representative, but his words at least give hope to Xbox gamers that want a No Man’s Sky Xbox One port. Whether it turns out to mean anything, however, is another story, as we may not get a port at all if Sony doesn’t want Hello Games to make one.
