The Elder Scrolls 6 is the most awaited Bethesda game but it looks like we’ll keep waiting for a long time. According to Bethesda’s heart and soul Pete Hines, The Elder Scrolls 6 is not in development. He stated that Bethesda is not a two-button vending machine.
The company’s focus is on other projects but they will eventually work on The Elder Scrolls 6. A rather disappointing statement for the community:
This studio is not a vending machine. They’re not a two-button vending machine, where first we press Elder Scrolls and then we press Fallout, and then we press Elder Scrolls and then we press Fallout… They’re an incredibly talented studio of creative people.
They’ve now made four games in a row, all of which were named Game of the Year, and they have a right to decide what they’re interested in working on next and which direction they want to go.
He explained that studio director Todd Howard has his reasons for not working on Elder Scrolls for now. And Hines does not question the man in charge.
The Elder Scroll is an established franchise but many of Bethesda other IPs were gathering dust for a long time
It seems the goal is to not milk the same IPs but bring back older ones with a bang. As you may know, Doom is back with Prey and even Quake is coming our way soon.
The direction is clear I believe.
Surely, they have ideas for The Elder Scrolls 6 so I believe it is only a matter of time before they implement.
