As was originally expected, the white Xbox One S 2TB stock was sort of limited after all, making this launch model console a limited edition in its own regard. Owing to the huge popularity and demand of this slim version of Xbox One, the 2TB model is now out of stock at most retailers.
Eurogamer.cz reports that Microsoft has confirmed that they have no plans to replenish the Xbox One S 2TB stock and those interested will either have to settle for the 500GB and 1TB models releasing at the end of this month.
For those Xbox users who feel that 1TB storage is not enough for them, there is always the option to buy the limited edition 2TB Xbox One S themed after the upcoming Gears of War 4.
A Microsoft spokesperson has this to say about the Xbox One S 2TB stock
“We’re excited by the reaction from fans for the Xbox One S. While stock of the 2TB has sold out, gamers can pre-order the Xbox One S 2TB Gears of War Limited Edition console, we will be sharing further details on other Xbox One S bundles and variations in the coming weeks.”
They will have to hurry and place their pre orders soon though as the console is launching in October and now that the standard edition is out, many people will start looking to this model and this might end up being out of stock as well. As of now, Microsoft seems to have no plans of producing more of Xbox One S 2TB versions
The console is available from third party sellers who took advantage of the launch prices, stocked up and are now selling them at higher price points. The cheapest 2TB console starts from around £470 and the prices keep going up depending on the seller. GAME, official Microsoft seller in UK is selling the console through a third-party seller for £479.95!
