Following months of rumors that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced at E3 2016, the game was a no show at the event. Fans were disappointed as they were expecting a reveal, however, a new report has emerged that hints towards Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonists.
According to a report from Christiantoday, there will be two Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonists. This is quite a different approach compared to previous titles in the series which follow a central story line tied to characters Red Harlow and John Marston respectively.
However, this is the entirety of the rumor, so the setting and characters featured in the game are still unknown. Also it is important to mention that this is just a rumor and not officially announced by the devs, so take it as a grain of salt.
If Rockstar indeed plans to feature dual Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonists than it is hardly surprising. As the developer has already proved that this design works in Grand Theft Auto V.
It remains to be seen where the story will take place and which characters will be involved as some of the events took place in Red Dead Redemption.
With Games Con 2016 the next major event, fans of the franchise are looking forward to the event for the next Rockstar announcement. And with Sony and some companies opting to not show up at the event, it is a possibility that Rockstar will take this opportunity to reveal the game and make the event all about itself.
Recently, Rockstar parent company Take Two released the results of its quarter of the fiscal year 2017. In the report Take Two gave a vague hint related to new Rockstar projects. According to the company Rockstar is hard at work on some new and exciting projects.
