Dragon Quest is one of the most popular franchise for Square Enix in Japan, and Dragon Quest X is one of the most praised titles in the franchise. The game has been released for a wide range of systems like Nintendo Wii, Wii U, smartphones, tablets, PC and it seems that the game is making its way to Nintendo NX along with PlayStation 4.
Speaking with Famitsu, Dragon Quest X Producer Yosuke Saito and Director Chikara Saito gave an update on the development of the game. The developers confirmed that the game is in development for Nintendo NX along with the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
When asked about when will the PlayStation 4 version of Dragon Quest X will be released, Yosuke Saito said that it will be released in Japan when the time is right and well ahead of Dragon Quest XI.
Dragon Quest X already has three versions of it and currently the game is in version 3.3 in Japan. A version 4 of the game is also in development alongside with new content for version 3, and no specific details were shared about the version 4 of the game.
The devs revealed that the team has already started working on a new class that will be featured in the 4th version of the Dragon Quest X.
Last year Square Enix announced that Nintendo NX versions of both Dragon Quest XI and X were under consideration. However, it is important to mention that the devs only confirmed that Dragon Quest X will be coming to Nintendo NX. The game has been released on five platforms, but it has never managed to make its way outside of the Japan, which is a little disappointing.
Dragon Quest X is a multiplayer online role playing game developed and published by Square Enix.
