Atlus has released some new footage showcasing Persona 5 fishing gameplay. One of the released clips shows players fishing in the Ichigaya region of the game.
Persona 5 Fishing
The 55-second Persona 5 fishing gameplay footage confirms the presence of the fishing mini-game in at least one location of the game’s world.
According to the footage, players get to decide how far they throw the fishing line in the water by timing their throw perfectly with the power meter. Once a fish gets hooked, they have to keep pressing a button and ensure their progress marker stays inside a specific area in order to successfully reel in their catch.
Another video clip released alongside this show the game’s characters; Morgana, Anne, Ryuji, Haru, Makoto and Yusuke as they summon their different personas in battle:
Only a few weeks ago, Atlus confirmed some details about the new dungeons in Persona 5. Unlike previous games, the dungeons will not be randomly generated in Persona 5 but will in fact have some unique themes to them which will set them apart from other dungeons.
Some recent screenshots also revealed the Phantom Thief outfits of different characters in game as well as the game’s battle design.
Persona 5 will also include a revamped Social Link system, which is a part of every Persona game, now known as Social Status where players will be helping different characters overcome their personal problems. This new system will include branches like Knowledge, Charm and Courage tied to each different character.
The game will also add a new Third Eye skill which when used in dungeons – or Palaces as they are called in Persona 5 – will allow players to see through traps and help in navigation.
Persona 5 is set to release on September 15th in Japan on PS4 and PS3. The western version of the game will be launching on February 14th 2017 in North America.
