Blizzard May Introduce Overwatch Trial Soon

Overwatch trial may soon be available to players. Blizzard wants to attract more audience and offering free trials is being considered.

Blizzard may introduce free trials for Overwatch via Blizzard client. Since launch day, Overwatch player base has risen to 7 million. However, Blizzard want to bring in more players and considered offering Overwatch trial.

The news came from NetEase president Li Riqiang.

NetEase is Blizzard’s Chinese partner and published Overwatch in the country. Li spoke during ChinaJoy 2016 and revealed Blizzard’s plans to possibly introduce Overwatch trial soon.

Plans aren’t finalized but it is one of the options being considered.

Overwatch is a first person shooter released for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game got critical acclaim but its price to content ratio was disappointing. Blizzard has promised lots of free content but to convince the skeptics, free trials of the game isn’t a bad idea.

In other Overwatch news, Blizzard recently released a patch for Overwatch that introduced balances to Ana and MaCree. Ana is buffed while MaCree was nerfed. Additionally, we had some UI changes:

User Interface

  • Fixed UI compatibility issues for ATI cards.
  • Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause Lúcio, Mei, and other models to only partially render (or disappear).
