Sony Japan has confirmed that the upcoming DriveClub VR for Playstation VR is going to be a launch title and will include new features not present in the original game.
As noted on Japanese Playstation Blog; the upcoming DriveClub will release on the same day as Playstation VR i.e. on Oct. 13, 2016.
DriveClub VR to be a Launch Title
In addition to this, it has also been confirmed that the upcoming VR racing title will be priced slightly lower than regular $59.99 – at 4900 yen which is equivalent to about $47.00 USD – and will include some new features which were not available in the 2014 version of the game.
One of these new additions is 3D audio which will make players feel like they are actually in a driving seat of a car. Combine it with playing the game from cockpit view, DriveClub VR strives to deliver an ultimate VR racing experience.
Playstation Japan has also confirmed that there will be a fistful of viewing angles which will allow players to look at the vehicles from a range of angles. Furthermore, DriveClub VR will include new tracks which were not present in the original version of the game.
In relevant DriveClub news, the game’s developer Paul Rustchynsky is working on a new racing IP with CodeMasters. There is not much that we know about this new IP, but to read up more, head over to the post!
Originally released back on Oct. 07, 2014 exclusively for Playstation 4, DriveClub VR is scheduled to release on Oct. 13, 2016 along with a bunch of other Playstation VR games.
