Gears of War 4 is Microsoft’s one of the first Xbox Play Anywhere games and will prove the studio’s commitment to PC as a platform.
In an interview with DigitalFoundry; Gears of War 4 Technical Director Mike Rayner stated that the PC version of the game will be highly optimized and customizable i.e. it will boast a wide array of visual settings than players usually find on a PC exclusive game.

Rayner said that the studio has 28 different settings at the moment and is looking for ways to add more and grant players complete accessibility.
Today we sit at 28 different settings and we’re thinking of ways to add more for people to really have full control. Along with more settings, we’re putting extra time into making it clear what impact a setting will have on GPU/CPU/VRAM so there is a clear correlation between a setting change and its performance impact.
In addition to this, Gears of War 4 on PC will also boast unlocked frame rate from the launch, thanks to new v-sync tearing support in the Universal Windows Platform. Aside from this, the game will also feature a range of resolutions and texture supports.
Lastly, there will be fully keyboard/mouse mapping and a benchmark tool! Rayner also talked a lot about graphics tech being used in Gears of War 4. You can head over to the link provided above for more information!
Gears of War 4 is scheduled to release in October 2016 on Microsoft Windows 10 and Xbox One with cross-buy, cross-play support between the two platforms.
